START LEVEL 04Levels are progressive learning stages, not interchangeable enrollment tracks. Age bands are educational suggestions, not federal licensing thresholds. TBG's proposed professional-entry policy is 18+. Anyone who prepares or substantially assists in preparing federal tax returns for compensation generally needs their own valid IRS PTIN, regardless of age. Other federal, state, employment and provider requirements may apply.
Use this starter checklist to build a learning plan. Check items off together. This is a planning exercise, not enrollment or certification.

Young learners use fictional data and age-appropriate exercises. Real taxpayer records, live return preparation and client-facing professional duties are not part of this introductory experience. A parent running a business must comply with employment, privacy, preparer and state laws.
Start with financial literacy, explore the TBG Tax Academy, and later consider eligible professional training, a team role or a parent-led family business. Learning here does not confer a credential or guarantee employment.
Discuss: What do we want to learn? Who would do what? How would we protect client information? What training and business costs would we need to plan for?
Interactive introductory lessons are available now. Progress is temporary; parent/guardian consent, youth accounts, saved progress and formal enrollment are not yet active.
